Metal Art
Each item is hand cut from sheets of tin, then shaped by the artisans, beaten and colored using brass and copper melted and dripped onto the surface. The whole product is then coated with a clear finish for protection, producing a very colorful and decorative wall hanging.
Handcrafted Mirrors
Without a doubt one of the least known and beautiful expressions of Mexican folk art is tin artwork. Each of our unique designed mirrors are done by a artisan family in the tranquil colonial city of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. It is meticulous work, as every complex pattern must be shaped and/or "hand" punched into the metal. Ventana al Mundo is pleased to bring these highly creative and imaginative designs to our customers.

Tule' Paper Art
The tule' is a water plant that grows in the shallows of lakes along the western range of the Sierra Madres in Mexico. The plant is harvested, cooked/boiled, beat using flat rocks, and then formed into a mat-like material. The artisan creates a geometric or astrological design while the fibers are still wet. The material is then cured and sundried for 2-3 weeks. Framed or hung by itself, tules are an interesting addition to your home decor.
